Install your first skill

1. Choose a skill

Search the catalog and read its license and prerequisites.

2. Download and inspect

Use Download ZIP or copy the install prompt to your agent. Review scripts before execution.

3. Install

Extract the skill into .claude/skills, .agents/skills, or the directory your agent supports.

4. Keep it updated

Compare the published version and SHA-256 checksum. Save skills in your personal library.

CLI authorization

Download the Python CLI from /cli/bbskills.py. Run python bbskills.py login and approve the displayed code in your browser. Never share your token.

If the CLI reports a certificate error

Check your computer clock, the requested hostname and the certificate dates first. A server with an invalid certificate needs a server-side fix. For an outdated local CA store, a maintained certificate bundle may resolve chain-validation errors. In the same Python environment used to run the CLI, install or update certifi with python -m pip install --upgrade certifi, then retry. The CLI uses certifi when available and otherwise uses Python's system trust store. Keep HTTPS certificate verification enabled. Package checksums complement TLS; they do not replace it.
